Normal shedding: proper care a healthy rabbit will usually change her coat twice a year. if all things are normal, the shed areas will regrow fur as the old coat falls out. some unfortunate rabbits seem to shed all the time.. Best answer: rabbits shed every 3 months. every alternate time they'll have a light shedding that may not be very noticeable. next they'll have a heavy shedding that you will not be able to escape.. My bunny is shedding very bad. he is losing hair in big clumps. he seems a little lethargic, not much change in diet. i felt him to see if i fell any tumors or unexplained growth, nothing. i have a mini rex rabbit and it seems to be shedding bad to the point of clumps of hair falling out what could cause this.
My dwarf rabbit has been shedding for about a month now. and it is getting really bad. if i pinch her hair on her butt, a clump of hair falls out. i brush her daily, but it doesn't seem to be working. just yesterday, i saw a spot on her butt that has shorter hair than the rest of her hair on her butt, and i am scared she might be developing a bald spot.. Best answer: rabbits shed 4 times/year and i've found with ours that some are worse than others. she does not need a bath - that is not a good idea for bunnies. i would brush her and pet her with damp hands (that'll get off some of the hair). if you are really worried, take her to a vet.. Recently he has started to shed a lot. he is kept in a cage in which it is filled with fur. the fur on his body is also very "bad-looking" as if he will shed it all off. is this an issue? is it seasonal? do i need to see a vet? thanks a lot! :d.
